Description
Sitting on a rock in a meadow in Jasper National Park, enjoying the view, there came a rustling movement at my feet. It seems I was sitting on a rock over a winter den of Wandering Western Terrestrial Garter Snakes. Not having the usual garter snake strip, I was unsure of species, but someone at the University of Alberta identified it for me.
